Super Talent, a leading supplier of advanced memory products, this week said it had begun shipping the world’s first 4GB memory kit capable of operating at 1800MHz. The new product is aimed primarily at gamers with overclocked hardware, who will benefit from additional amount of memory.
“This represents another major first-to-market milestone for Super Talent. While competitors are only able to produce 4GB kits up to DDR3-1600, we’ve engineered a kit that performs at elevated clock speeds while still supporting aggressive latencies,” said Super Talent marketing director, Joe James.
Super Talent’s Project X W1800UX4GP memory kit that consists of two 2GB memory modules can operate at 1800MHz with CL8 8-8-24 latency settings and 1.9V voltage. The memory modules are based on memory chips from Micron Technology, the company, whose dynamic random access memory (DRAM) products are well-recognized by performance enthusiasts and overclockers.
No other memory manufacturer is currently shipping such speedy set of 2GB memory modules, however, other top suppliers of high-speed memory modules are likely to offer similar products in the coming weeks or months.
The W1800UX4GP kit should be available shortly from Ewiz.com online store for under $499, Super Talent said.
