PCMark is another application based benchmark to test specific subsystem performance. Unlike SYSmark, PCMark only uses portions of code from real applications and sometimes, custom synthetic tests.
In this benchmark, the ASUS P5AD2 premium achieves a better overall score. The AA8 DuraMAX trails in CPU score only by about 1%, and memory score by about 3%. Still a commendable showing by ABIT.
The surprising result here is the hard disk scores. PCMark's HDD test suite is a collection of four tests that measures Windows XP start up, application loading, file copying and general hard disk usage. The AA8 DuraMAX was able to pull ahead by a big margin here with a score that is more than 8% higher than the ASUS.
