DFI has quickly been gaining ground in the motherboard BIOS sector -- the new SLI-DR BIOS again makes strides forward. Let's look at what this Pheonix-based BIOS has to offer overclockers and tweakers.

This is the main menu you will be spending your time on if you overclock. The "Genie" allows you to modify all the voltages and frequencies.

Both of these images show the full line up of DRAM configuration settings that DFI has to offer. There is an incredible amount of detail possible here, and if you know a bit about memory, you can have a lot of fun tweaking all these timings and settings to find the optimal settings.

Just a bit misleading, DFI has a setting for FSB adjustment, which is really adjusting an internal bus on the processor for memory and CPU speed calculations. In any event, the clock rate is adjustable up to 456 MHz! I don't think any of you will be reaching that high, but it is nice to see a board without any hard limits in your way.

This allows you to adjust the HyperTransport multiplier. Default on new 939-pin processors is 5x, but you can lower if you are overclocking heavily.

If you have an FX processor, you can adjust the multiplier up and down and if you have an Athlon 64 processor then you can adjust them down.

The PCI Express bus can be raised for higher GPU throughput, up to 145 MHz here.

This setting is a bit of a let down as it is only allowing you to set the CPU voltage to 1.55v; not nearly as high as some other motherboards we have seen recently.
