Unigine 'Heaven' DX11
The 'Heaven' benchmark that uses the Unigine easily shows off thefull potential of DirectX 11 graphics cards. Through its advanced renderer, Unigineis one of the first to set precedence in showcasing the art assets withtessellation, bringing compelling visual finesse, utilizing thetechnology to the full extend and exhibiting the possibilities ofenriching 3D gaming. The distinguishing feature of the benchmark is ahardware tessellation that is a scalable technology aimed for automaticsubdivision of polygons into smaller and finer pieces, so thatdevelopers can gain a more detailed look of their games almost free ofcharge in terms of performance. For this benchmark VSync was turned off and we tested with 0x AA and4x AF to check out system performance. We also ran the benchmarkat 1920x1200 and 1280x1024 to see how the benchmark ran at somedifferent common monitor resolutions.
Benchmark Results: The 'Heaven' benchmark was only run on DirectX 11 cards as it is a DirectX 11 benchmark. The Radeon HD 5970 was easily able to handle the benchmark and scored much higher than any other Radeon HD 5700 or 5800 series card that we have tested. The fact that we are getting nearly 60FPS on this DirectX 11 benchmark is a great sign as just a couple months ago we were worried if DX11 would be playable with smooth frame rates on current DX11 hardware.
