Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.
Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. (High Altitude Warfare eXperimentalsquadron) is an aerial warfare video game developed by Ubisoft Romaniaand published by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows. It was released inUnited States on March 6, 2009 and features Microsoft DirectX 10.1 gameplay.
I used this benchmark back in April 2009 in my original coverage ofthe GeForce 275 versus the Radeon HD 4890, but some new patches havecome out that have greatly impacted performance.
For this game VSync was turned off, but Antialiasing was turned on and set to 8x for better image quality.
All of the DirectX 10 options were set tohigh including Ambient occlusion (SSAO) on both the NVIDIA and ATIgraphics cards. The game was patched with update v1.2, which was themost current patch.
Benchmark Results: In H.A.W.X. the ATI Radeon HD 5970 was able to barely beat out the Radeon HD 5850 CrossFire setup at 1920x1200 for the very first time in our testing. The Radeon HD 5970 was found to be over 42% faster than the GeForce GTX 295 graphics card with these settings. It appears we have a new single slot graphics card to call top dawg!
