ATI Technologies today announced the introduction and general availability of a new integrated chipset for desktop Intel platforms - RADEON XPRESS 200. This new PCI Express chipset is designed to support Intel's Socket 775 class of processors, both single and multi-core, along with next-generation DDR2 memory up to 667 MHz. RADEON XPRESS 200 for Intel is targeted for mainstream consumer PCs and low cost media center solutions. It supports Windows Media Center Edition 2005. The solutions on this new chipset will soon be offered by Acer, Samsung, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, Tul, Sapphire, ECS, FIC, Shuttle and Jetway.

Motherboards based on RADEON XPRESS 200 for Intel are now shipping from ASUS, with the newly introduced P5RD1-V multimedia platform.

RADEON XPRESS 200 for Intel platform is based on RADEON X300 core technology, and offers a variety of features including DirectX 9 vertex and pixel shaders, as well as improved anti-aliasing capabilities. RADEON XPRESS 200 also provides investment protection for consumers through supporting the latest Intel microprocessors, as well as DDR2 667MHz.

"With well over 15,000,000 chipsets shipped, ATI continues its tradition of product and performance leadership with the RADEON XPRESS 200 for Intel," said Phil Eisler, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Chipset Business Unit. "With the release of our fourth generation Intel chipset we continue to raise the bar for integrated graphics, and deliver a true DirectX 9 visual experience that extends to all real-world applications."

Additional motherboards and OEM platforms with RADEON XPRESS 200 for Intel will be announced over the coming months. And we are going to soon have some of these boards reviewed for you :)
