While DDR2 SDRAM is still not as popular on the market a year after launch, some companies make efforts in order to popularize the standard. OCZ Technology recently unveiled its Value Pro DDR2 memory modules that may power relatively affordable computers while still providing quality and overclockability the company is known for.
“The PC2-4200 Value Pro modules make high speed DDR2 more affordable than ever. At 533 MHz operating frequency with medium latencies and featuring copper heat-spreaders, the Value Pro series delivers the best bang for the buck,?believes Dr. Michael Schuette, Director of Technology Development at OCZ Technology.
OCZ DDR2 PC2-4200 Value Pro Series memory modules are designed to run at 533MHz with CL4 4-4-8 latencies and 1.8V voltage settings. All OCZ Value Pro modules are encased in a pure copper heat-spreader for efficient heat dissipation and some overclocking ability, unlike OCZ Value modules which come without heatsinks.
“Lower cost, on the other hand does not mean that there is any sacrifice with respect to reliability and quality since every module is hand-tested and backed by the OCZ Lifetime Warranty,?Mr. Schuette added.
The OCZ PC2-4200 Value Pro line will be available in 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB modules as well as dual-channel kits. Actual pricing information was not available at press time.
