Overnight repair or replacement for faulty Xbox 360 consolesThe Xbox 360 problems that have surfaced since its launch earlier this week have not gone by Microsoft unnoticed.?Though the company explains that incidents of faulty Xbox 360 consoles are isolated and not the norm across the board, they are prepared to offer repair and replacement services for gamers who have been affected:
"'It's a few reports of consoles here and there not working properly,' said Molly O'Donnell, a spokeswoman for Microsoft's Xbox division. 'It's what you would expect with a consumer electronics instrument of this complexity .... par for the course.'O'Donnell urged anyone with Xbox problems to call 1-800-4myXbox or go to http://www.xbox.com. If the problems can't be resolved immediately, Microsoft said it will pay to ship the console overnight to a repair center, overnight it back once it's fixed, or ship a replacement."
Since Xbox 360 modification on the part of gamers is unlikely at this point in the console's life cycle, there shouldn't be issues with warranties.?However, replacement Xbox 360 consoles could be few in number as Microsoft is still tasked with keeping the consoles in stock at retailers.?The company has previously assured that they are producing new consoles each week, but remember they must also allocate stock for the European and Japanese Xbox 360 launches later this year.
