Nvidia Corp. has unveiled its first mobile GeForce 7-series class graphics chips designed for professional applications. The new Quadro FX products will be available at different price-points and offer various performance levels. The first systems featuring the new Quadro FX graphics processing units (GPUs) will be available from Dell shortly.

The new lineup of professional mobile products from Nvidia include the Quadro FX 350M, Quadro FX 1500M and Quadro FX 2500M chips, which are based on the incarnations of G72 (model 350M) and G71 (models 1500M and 2500M) GPUs produced using 90nm process technology.

• Nvidia's Quadro FX 350M has four pixel processors, three vertex processors, is clocked at 425MHz and features 64-bit memory controller with up to 256MB of (G)DDR2 memory support. The developer recommends 800MHz memory speed for the FX 350M GPU. According to Nvidia, power consumption of the part is 15W, however, such guidance is usually higher compared to actual power consumption.
• Nvidia Quadro FX 1500M and the Quadro FX 2500M are the incarnations of the G71 chip, which integrates 24 pixel processors and 8 vertex processors. The more powerful FX 2500M is clocked at 450MHz, sports up to 512MB of 256-bit GDDR3 memory at 1200MHz and has power consumption of around 100W, whereas the FX 1500M operates at 312.5MHz, can be equipped with up to 256MB of 256-bit GDDR3 memory at 1000MHz clock-speed and has approximate power consumption of up to 45W.

Nvidia?Quadro FX mobile solutions offer the same features found in Nvidia workstation graphics solutions for desktop-based professional workstations, the company indicated. This new line of Nvidia Quadro FX graphics solutions has been selected for the latest generation Dell Precision M90 and M65 mobile workstations.
