Intel Corp. has notified its clients that starting from the 16th of April the company would begin to ship its mainboards that support the next-generation code-named Conroe central processing units (CPUs), which are set to become available later in the year.

The Desktop Board D975XBX mainboard revision D27094-304 is expected to reach the clients of Intel on the 16th of April, nevertheless, it is obvious that for some time after that date there will be a lot of D975XBX mainboards without support of the forthcoming Conroe processors on the market.

The product update proves the recently published information about compatibility between the Conroe processors and Intel 975X chipset and the requirement of more sophisticated CPU power supply circuitry for the new chip.

Intel Desktop Board D975XBX is based on the Intel 975X core logic and can work with dual-core processors with 800MHz or 1066MHz processor system bus, supports dual-channel DDR2 667MHz memory and has other peculiarities of a product designed for performance enthusiasts.
