Intel Corp., the world's largest maker of microprocessors and supporting logic, is reportedly planning to unveil a special business platform on Monday. The new platform will carry a special brand-name that will allow business customers to recognize it.
A news-story over Reuters claims that Intel will announce plans to ?introduce a new brand for a line of business products designed to make it easier for companies to manage and maintain fleets of personal computers? Intel is reportedly hoping that the brand-name will become as successful as Intel Centrino, which is the world's top notebook brand today.
Intel has been calling for platformization of computer components for several quarters now, which seems logical as different computers offer various functionality for their target groups and for end users it may not be easy to decide what exactly do they need. For instance, Intel Viiv brand-name is oriented on media center computers, whereas Centrino is associated with laptops.
The world's largest maker of microprocessors has been planning to unveil a platform for business computers for several quarters now, according to some unofficial sources. The business platform is likely to utilize the company's latest chips that support remote management technologies along with security and virtualization.
Officials at Intel could not immediately be reached for comment. At press time U.S. Patent and Trademark Office did not include any new trademarks from Intel.
