Following complaints by end-users and reviewers, Tul Corp., a graphics card maker known for Power Color brand-name, said that it would supply CrossFire bridges directly to users who request them from the company, as the firm could not bundle bridges with all of its graphics cards due to shortages.
AMD's ATI Radeon X1950 Pro and 1650 XT graphics cards use special bridges to connect one board to another to enable multi-GPU CrossFire technology operation. However, at least some of the boards from Asustek Computer and Power Color did not include the appropriate bridge, thus, it was impossible for end-users to build up a system with two most-recently introduced ATI Radeon graphics cards.
?Actually, our graphics cards do come with a CrossFire cable, but due to a shortage of the CrossFire bridge from ATI, ome retail boxes might be missing the CrossFire bridge. Therefore, we already put a sticker on the retail box and tell the customer to claim from us. We will send it by next day once the customer contact us,?a spokesman for Power Color told .
The company emphasized the fact that it had no intention to sell CrossFire bridges separately, but the issue occurred since ATI and AMD could not supply the bridges on time and in appropriate quantities.
Asustek Computer and ATI Technologies, a division of Advanced Micro Devices that develops graphics processors and core-logic sets, did not comment on the news-story.
