EVGA, a supplier of graphics cards and mainboards designed for performance computing enthusiasts, on Thursday unveiled its pre-overclocked graphics cards based on Nvidia's flagship GeForce 8800 processor. Several of the new boards feature improved cooling systems that should make pre-overclocking a little safer.
Currently there are two pre-overclocked Nvidia GeForce 8800-based lineups offered by EVGA: the KO-series with ACS3 cooling system and the “Superclocked?family, which both include models powered by the GeForce 8800 GTX and GTX graphics processors.
The difference between the comparable members of the two families in terms of clock-speed is negligible, hence, end-users are likely to make their choice based on characteristics of the cooling systems, which, unfortunately, remain unknown currently.
“These new EVGA 8800 cards with ACS3 cooling crank up the performance and take gaming to revolutionary levels. EVGA's ACS3 cooling technology aids in the increased performance and reliability of these higher performance EVGA 8800 cards.?said Andrew Han, president and chief executive of EVGA.

EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX KO with ACS3 cooling clocks the graphics processor at 626MHz, whereas memory chips operate at 2.0GHz, whereas the EVGA 8800 GTS KO is clocked at 580MHz/1700MHz for chip/memory. EVGA's GeForce 8800 GTX and GTX Superclocked boards feature 621MHz/2.0GHz and 576MHz/1700MHz respectively.
Currently the EVGA's KO and Superclocked GTX graphics boards powered by the GeForce 8800-series chips are not the fastest pre-overclocked graphics boards featuring the latest flagship processors by Nvidia: XFX clocks the chip a little bit higher. EVGA's pre-overclocked boards featuring the GeForce 8800 GTS, however, are faster than those offered by Gainward and XFX.
European branch of EVGA said that the EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTX KO ACS3 will be available at online retailers at an estimated retail price of €699 ($649 in the U.S.), while the EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTS KO ACS3 will be priced at €549 ($479 in the U.S.). EVGA Superclocked GeForce 8800-series graphics cards with default cooling solutions are slightly more affordable.
