Introduction and Specs
The Intel X38 chipset is finally here, and all of the hype that surrounded it is now able to be tested against other great chipset releases from Intel. What makes this chipset so interesting is that is not only comes on DDR2 dressed boards, but it also come on boards that are DDR3 equipped. Seeing those two types of boards square off against each other will certainly make for an interesting article in time.
Meanwhile, we will have a look at a DDR2 variety of the board that Gigabyte has introduced to the market. Gigabyte is certainly not a new player, so we expect to see great things from their board. Today, we introduce to you the Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6. Ever wonder what the DQ6 meant on this series of board (or any variety of their recent line-up....) Well, here it is: Gigabyte uses it to stand for the 6 "quad" features on the board. Take a look at the six that make up the DQ6 on this board:
