The Titan Vanessa, as is with other heat pipe coolers, is taller than your run of the mill HSF at 6?tall and 4?wide. Although it is tall, the Vanessa weighs in at around 414g. This is good because its weight does not exert too much pressure on the motherboard thus averting the risk of damage to the board. On top of Vanessa’s fins sits a buttery plate, thereby increasing her attractiveness ?a definite boon for users/modders with side windows.
Most heat pipe coolers out in the market today sports either 4 or 6 heat pipes and the Titan Vanessa has 6 heat pipes. Since the function of a heat pipe is to transfer heat from the processor to its fins (to be cooled down), the existence of more heat pipes will hence translate into higher heat dissipation ratio. Vanessa’s heat pipes are made of copper and chromed in silver. From the picture above, we can see that these heat pipes are securely “fastened?to the base of the Vanessa. The end of each heat pipe is protected by a blue rubber to prevent damage that can affect the heat pipes?cooling performance.
There is a total of 40 aluminum fins on the Vanessa and each was soldered very securely with the heat pipes. These 40 fins form a butterfly shape which I found advantageous when I installed the Vanessa onto my AMD64 NF3 motherboard - it wasn’t an obstruction when I screwed it onto the motherboard bracket. Aluminum fins were used to reduce cost and weight.
