CodeCreatures
Still a great app to show the raw pixel pushing horsepower of a card due to it's high polycount, this test is run at x4 AA to test a cards ability to render high quality, antialiased scenes. This test is not DX9 specific at all. For a minimum playable frame rate you are looking at 30 frames per second. Scores between the 6800 and X800 are close using balanced settings but once we crank up the visuals the X800 pulls ahead of the 6800 by around 9 frames per second.
RightMark Video Analyzer (DX8 Release)
This is another great DX8 benchmark which comes from the folks at RightMark . They also offer a DX9 version but for this review I only used this DX8 release version. At 1024x768 with balanced settings the 6800 lags behind a bit but in the 1600x1200 test with balanced settings the 6800 pulls ahead nicely. The rest of the tests were pretty close.
GunMetal Benchmark (Test 1)
The transformeresque shooter by Yeti Studios was one of the first games to serve up some DX9 goodness. I used the first benchmark test in this app. The 6800 shows some SERIOUS muscle here. The DX9 capabilities of the 6800 GPU really show here. Check out the 1600x1200 scores!
AquaMark3
AquaMark3 is another great DX9 benchmark that I like to use to measure DX9 performance. The 6800 is close with balanced settings and then lags behind with high quality settings.
