If, like PNY, a manufacturer hasn't altered the default clocks of a reference model board, prospective buyers are then left with two options for evaluating just how good the package is. The first method is the simplest one; price. PNY's Verto 6600 GT 128MB card can be purchased for around ?40 online. That puts it in the middle of the bunch, with equivalent models usually ranging from ?25-?55.. The second method is to evaluate the value added by the bundle and warranty. Here's where the Verto 6600 GT 128MB scores well. Far Cry, bundled in with the card, is still an excellent gaming title that retails at around the ?5 mark, and the 3-year limited warranty is obviously better than the 1-year offered by many rivals.
The underlying technology is good enough to state that you cannot buy a bad GeForce 6600 GT card. It's best-suited for playing games at 1280x1024 with a modicum of image enhancement. That fits in perfectly with the kind of customer it's aimed at, who'll most likely be using a 17" TFT or 19" CRT that both tend to run natively at that resolution. PNY's effort, by dint of its bundle and warranty, is a pretty good choice for those who have
