Windy Internals

Inside this Cooler Master chassis you'll find plenty of space to make things easy when it comes to installing all the little bits that make up a PC. The wide spacious interior plays hosts to the standard tool-free design that Cooler Master favors. Additionally, there's a large squarish hole that's positioned right where your heat sink CPU fan will be when mounted onto a motherboard.

This feature is a very interesting and excellent idea because as some of you should know, there are some CPU heatsinks that require securing a retention backplate at the flip side of the motherboard to be mounted properly. With this square hole on the chassis, it allows the user to easily switch HSFs without going through the hassle of removing the motherboard before remounting a new fan. With such a large casing though, you'll expect Cooler Master to include a removable motherboard tray but alas - no such luck.

The PSU bay is located at the bottom of the unit and installation of the PSU was a very easy affair with no brackets to mess around with.

Moving upwards and to the right are these tool-free locks for the 5.25-inch drive bays. Installation of your optical drive is hence a simple, one-touch affair.

Located below is another 230mm fan (which glows red when powered up) and the hard drive cages.

We really liked the design for the hard disk cage, the frame was flexible and made it really easy to slot the hard drive into. With no screws involved at all, installing a hard disk was definitely a breeze.

...And then slotting in back inside the cage and locking it into position. Easy peasy.
