CoolIT Domino A L C Review

CoolIT wanted to deliver the Domino Advanced Liquid Cooling solution to the public for under $79 and be sure that it was competitive with the other products on the market. After using the CoolIT Domino A.L.C. for several weeks it is clear that the year they spent developing the Domino A.L.C. was well worth it. Even better, the street pricing on the cooler starts at just $66 plus shipping on Google Shopping. That is an amazing price considering that the e-tailor has still marked it up! For that price it puts the Domino A.L.C. in the same price category as the dozens of air coolers as Newegg offers 34 CPU coolers between $50-$75. This makes the Domino A.L.C. a viable option for nearly everyone as both the performance and price are right.

Many people get nervous when putting something full of water in their PC and it should be noted that the design life for the CoolIT Domino A.L.C. is over seven years when run at 50C. This long life-span is due to the ceramic bearing water pump that we talked previously during the review. The Domino A.L.C. shouldn't need to be refilled as the water vapor transmission loss was designed to be kept to a minimum. All water coolers will lose fluids as plastic and rubber is porous, but CoolIT used the corrugated tubing seen on the unit as they found it to have the lowest permeability during testing.  This means that the proprietary coolant (25% propylene Glycol Mixture with anticorrosion/antifungal additives) will not need to be replaced for as long as you should own it. If that isn't enough peace of mind for you the Domino A.L.C. comes backed with a full 2 year manufacturer warranty and CoolIT has always been very good with RMA's.

The performance of the Domino A.L.C. simply blew me away like no other cooler has in years. When the performance numbers showed that the Domino A.L.C. was outperforming the Thermaltake BigWater 760is I was floored to say the least. The price tag on the Thermaltake BigWater 760is is $149, which is more than double that of the Domino A.L.C. and it performed worse. This just goes to show that a water cooling kit needs to be a well rounded and polished to get the best performance. CoolIT Systems seems to have the Domino A.L.C. setup with the optimal hardware and water flow to have a winner on their hands. At first I was going to give the Domino A.L.C. the Legit Reviews Value Award, but I think that would be short changing a great product that offers more than just a sexy price tag. The CoolIT Domino A.L.C. is more than worthy of our Editor's Choice award and I can't wait to see what CoolIT Systems is designing for next year!

CoolIT Domino A L C Review

Legit Bottom Line: The CoolIT Systems Domino A.L.C. proves that great water cooling can be had for under $79 and the performance showed that it can perform better than water kits that cost twice the price.
