When I first took the cooler out of the box I initially thought, "wow that’s big;" at 6.2tall it will have you measuring your case to see if it will fit. If it weren’t for the heatpipe cap detail Scythe could have knocked a good ½off the top of the cooler.
Looking from the side at the Mugen 2 we can get a good look at the fin arrangement. The Mugen 2 is almost like 5 separate coolers. There are only 4 fins spread evenly that actually touch all the heat pipes.
Looking at the top we can see the Mugen 2 has fan clip channels on all sides. This will allow for up to 4 fans to be installed.
The base of the Mugen 2 is nickel plated copper. There is also a heatsink on the top side of the base.
The finish on the base is good, but not a mirror. For a sub $40 cooler, I like what I see so far.
