[title]WebNews.TV 1.0 ?a funny RSS reader (or rather speaker).[/title]
WebNews.TV is an RSS reader that actually reads the news feeds aloud. The program's interface looks like a TV set with a news anchor reading
the latest news. All RSS feeds are verbalized by a funny animated Penguin that changes studios, depending on the RSS feed topic. For example, all weather related news feeds are read in a weather studio with an umbrella in one hand. Sports related stories are read with a baseball hat on and a bat. The screenshots of the anchor Penguin in different studios are available at http://www.webnews.tv/characters/

While WebNews.TV is certainly entertaining, it is also a very informative web utility. Unlike other RSS feed readers that require PC users' undivided attention, WebNews.TV can be run in the background
with the news stories read aloud, so PC users can browse Internet, play games or work on documents and listen to the latest news simultaneously.

The program is brain-dead simple and is much easier to set up and run than an average RSS news reader. In fact, the interface is made of only four buttons and the Options menu does not require a PhD in Computer Science. Out of 50+ RSS readers available on the Internet, Webnews.TV is probably the simplest one and definitely the most unconventional.

Webnews.TV is also a great internet marketing/promotion tool forwebmasters with microscopic budgets. For $100, Webnews.TV staff can add a company logo to program's interface. For $500, the company will make a stand-alone custom version of software free of Webnews.TV advertising. The prices are valid until January 31, 2005 and will double after that (to $200 and
$1000 respectively) http://www.webnews.tv/custom/.

WebNews.TV is available at http://www.webnews.tv for download. WebNews.TV is an ad-supported freeware (not to be confused with annoying adware or spyware). WebNews.TV developers can also make custom ad supported or ad-free RSS news readers for all web masters and entrepreneurs who would like to use a free RSS reader as a marketing tool.
