Thoughts

To tell the absolute truth, I'm almost entirely smitten with the KLOSS. Good features, fine performance and that excellent chassis and CPU cooling mean that I'm struggling to say anything bad about it. Lack of BIOS adjustment for settings to appease the tweaker aren't a problem and to say so would slightly miss the point of the device. Bigger graphics cards and ATI's Radeon X600 series are guaranteed not to work but you should have no issues with anything else.

It's also bigger than a P-series Shuttle XPC, meaning the KLOSS sometimes can feel unweildy and take up a fair bit of room on a desk, so if size is of utmost importance to you, you might want to look elsewhere. For everyone else with around ?00 to spend, put the TriGem KLOSS KL-I915A very near the top of your list if LGA775 and PCI Express is what you want to invest in.

HD Audio and the front-panel interface (and a PCI slot if CMI9880 isn't what you're looking for), along with the remote, make it a strong contender for any stylish media PC you wish to build and with one of the lower clocked Prescott processors you should get near-silence from it too.

An innovative take on SFF chassis partitioning and the cooler for the processor are the final big highlights on a well presented and desirable mini barebones computer system.

There's a single UK stockist at the moment and it's just under ?00 including VAT. We're informed that it'll appear elsewhere around this country and Europe in due course so look out for it at your favourite retailer. It's not as cheap as Shuttle's SB77G5 XPC but for the extra ?0 it'll take to snag a KLOSS, you get more than ?0 worth of extra value in this reviewer's opinion.

It's so recommended that I've snagged one for my girlfriend who absolutely loves its aesthetic and quiet running. Excellent.

Cons

Doesn't work with all graphics cards, even ones that fit
?00 is a fair chunk of change
One of the larger small form factor chassis
