Are you ready to wield "the most powerful handgun in the world?"Warner Bros. must have been feeling a little luckier than usual when they announced today their partnership with veteran film actor Clint Eastwood to bring the "Dirty Harry" film franchise to video gaming.?Eastwood's character, San Francisco police?inspector Harry Callahan, will join the growing ranks of many classic silver screen icons that are already jumping onto the video game bandwagon.?What's interesting here however is that these new Dirty Harry games?are planned for release?on the next round of video game consoles, meaning you won't see them (at least not yet) on the current PlayStation 2 or Xbox platforms, for example.
In a pleasant surprise, Eastwood himself is signed on to provide his voice and likeness for his character's video game counterpart.?Eastwood's own film company, Malpaso Productions, is also said to be on hand to contribute to the game development.
""This will be an opportunity to satisfy the many requests over the years to continue the 'Dirty Harry' legacy, only now in the video game medium," said Clint Eastwood. "Creating 'Dirty Harry' video games will also introduce this memorable film character to new generations on a medium they appreciate.""
Unfortunately, details regarding the games are scarce, which probably comes as no surprise considering the equally scarce details concerning the next-generation of consoles they are supposed to be appearing on.
