Introduction

The Logitech MX1000 mouse is the first mouse from Logitech to boast the highly publicized MX Laser engine, with a performance claimed to far exceed the current standards presented by the optical mice that are now commonplace with every new PC. Gone are the days of pulling the cat hairs and bits of last night's kebab out of your ball-based mice, and also gone are the days of staring at the red glow emanating from the base of your favorite optical mouse. Laser technology is here, and with a claimed performance increase of 20 times the power of optical; if Logitech have their way the days of optical are now numbered.

Logitech is well known for the plethora of offerings they have in the PC peripheral markets, and their collection of mice is just one of those markets where they have a very high reputation for quality, coupled with a model to suit every budget. The MX1000 mouse is the top of the pile, the ?big cheese? it's the one to have if you want the ultimate PC system, but this sort of device is not going to come bundled with an ?off the shelf?PC, this device is very much for the true enthusiast, the hardcore users amongst us.

If buttons are your thing then consider the MX1000 the remote control to your PC, the ability to move around your screen in four dimensions along with the back and forward browsing buttons mean you have full control of your browsing experience in the palm of you hand. Logitech have also included a button on the side of the mouse that allows you to perform the ?alt + tab?function with ease, give your keyboard the night off, the MX1000 is here to make your browsing and general PC use a one-handed affair.
