A recent poll shown that the greater part of enthusiasts among readers of either already use or are planning to use Internet telephony services like Vonage or Skype. A huge part of people, however, feel reluctant about the technology.
Recently released results of an poll demonstrate about 25% of surveyed already using services like Skype and Vonage, while 28% feeling positive about using them. But another 60% of respondents still would prefer means of communications different from Internet telephony ?landline, cellular phones, email or instant messaging.
While VoIP is a relatively new technology, it has managed to become rather popular among a lot of users. Unfortunately, currently VoIP is associated with personal computers, which is not really flexible for another big part of potential clients. As mainstream PDAs and smartphones gain VoIP features, the technology is likely to become more popular.
