StorCase Technology, a leading provider of data protective storage enclosures, has today announced it will be showcasing the industry's first 2.5?SATA and SCSI drive RAID/JBOD subsystems at CeBIT 2005. Also on show are the latest Data Express ?Backup?products for the Small Business Server segment. StorCase Technology will be unveiling it's new products and fielding specific questions from visitors on a daily basis at the Transtec Stand C01 in Hall 2, from 10 ?16 March 2005.

InfoStation 2.5?RAID/JBOD Subsystems: The Future of Mass Disk Storage

The InfoStation 10-Bay Subsystems, the industry's first 2.5?drive enclosure, has been developed by StorCase Technology to meet the specific needs of its customers. The products?high-density 1U form factor maximises rack space efficiency and is available as JBOD with SCSI drive support, or as a SCSI or Fibre host to RAID Subsystem for cost effective SATA drives. The Infostation 10-Bay also exceeds the rotational vibration and heat dissipation requirements of high performance; high capacity drives and is configurable for either single or dual host connections.

As the industry gears itself to greater density storage, 2.5?drives will gain popularity and soon become an enterprise standard. In this respect, the InfoStation 10-bay is the future of back-office Disk storage. The SATA disk RAID subsystem is most popular, currently, in D2D backup applications where the need for a small form factor ?backup caching?device in limited rack space is required. The SCSI JBOD version is fast gaining popularity amongst Data Centres that require vital speed but are constrained by costly rack space. In addition to these benefits, the Disk vendors claim the 2.5?drives can save up to 30% on power consumption saving not only the environment, but also those burgeoning electricity bills!

Data Express Backup: Seriously Low Cost Backup for the Small Business Server

The Data Express backup is StorCase's faster alternative to tape, completing backups on average 6x quicker than comparable tape products. The Disk based media cartridges have been designed for robust usage to enable each product to withstand over 20,000 insertions, whilst the USB host and media cartridge connections allow the backup IDE drive to be hot swapped without having to reboot the system making this seriously low cost and reliable backup!

The product also has increased security, offering local or network backup with encryption and key lock functions as a locking device. Both the security and mobility of the Data Express Backup means that it is an increasingly popular choice, not only over tape but also external drives.

Its ideal place is the Small Business Server market where the use of tape devices is common. The Data Express Backup provides the user with the clear benefits of greater capacity potential and thus a lower cost per gigabyte gain. The Backup Drive Receiving frame doesn't require any maintenance like head cleaning. Once the drive-based media cartridge is inserted and locked-in, its ready to work with the software to do the backups as scheduled

Ajay Lukha, General Manager EMEA of StorCase Technology comments, ?We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase two of our most exciting products at CeBIT 2005. Both the Data Express Backup and Infostation 2.5?Drive highlight StorCase Technology's commitment to producing high quality, reliable and cost-effective backup solutions for a wide range of end-users.

?CeBIT offers us the opportunity to maintain an open dialogue with our customers, get feedback on products and discuss their emerging storage needs. At StorCase Technology we are committed to working side-by-side with our customers and partners to develop the best products.?
