Pre-Paid N-Gage price frop and game library price cuts on the horizon.Nokia announces today that the N-Gage QD and N-Gage game library will go under some pretty serious price cuts this month as part of a new strategy to bring more gamers into the marketplace. The unfortunate bit about this is that not all retailers will be participating in this cut, at the moment it seems like Gamestop / Musicland related companies will be the only ones offering the pre-paid N-Gage QD at $99 while channel partners will still vary in their pricing of the device depending on contract decisions.
?These new price points make it even easier to get your hands on an N-Gage QD and games to experience the thrill of mobile connected gaming,?said Gerard Wiener, Director and General Manager, Games, Nokia. ?The N-Gage QD combines the best of phones and games which means it's always with you when you need a quick fix of gaming. Our latest N-Gage titles provide great gaming experiences, whether it's a four-player Bluetooth session of Snakes, or providing back-up for your friend's Pathway to Glory platoon on the other side of the world through the N-Gage Arena.
Given the amount of 3rd party development on the Symbian OS the price cut might work out well for those looking for a multifunction device but didn't want to pay the extra premium that the N-Gage carried before. In the games department the price cut will most likely be a welcome break for many current owners.
