Product: Manufacturer: Supplied by: Price: Review Date: | Nitrogon (NT02) SilverStone SilverStone $55 / RM200 8th April 2005 | SilverStone, as we all know makes exceptional quality PC cases and HTPC cases. Being one of the best PC case manufacturers in the market, SilverStone is now getting into the enthusiast market with their CPU coolers. Previously, we had posted a review of their first CPU cooler dubbed the Nitrogon NT01. Their NT01 CPU cooler is one of the most unique CPU coolers in the market with its powder heatpipes, unique shape and fanless application with the wind tunnel. Following their success of utilizing powder heatpipes in the NT01, SilverStone is back with a new tower type CPU cooler - the Nitrogon NT02. So without further ado, let us check out what SilverStone has to offer with the NT02 cooler. Special features Hybrid aluminium & copper construction Superior powder heat pipe design P4 Socket 478, LGA775, and Athlon 64 compatible For use with P4 Prescott 3.6GHz / AMD64 4000+ & above High quality SilverStone FM82 cooling fan included Specifications Introduction (quote from Silverstone) The Nitrogon NT02 is a cooler created to achieve the perfect balance in performance, quietness, and compatibility. By utilizing sintered powder design, our engineers were able to decrease the number of heat pipes used while achieving similar performance to coolers built with more weight and heat pipes. Coupled with the excellent FM82 cooling fan and a strategically placed aluminium heatsink, the NT02 can provide first-rate CPU cooling in just about any applications. Packaging If you are familiar with SilverStone products, you will understand that their products come in more or less designer style packaging. The NT02 comes in a big card board box packaging with carrying handle. The box has windows on the front which reveals the heatsink and fan sitting inside the foam padded package. At the back, you抣l find detailed specifications of the heatsink, fan and the fancy fan controller. At the sides, SilverStone highlights the special features that make the NT02 special. Popping open the box unveils the NT02 placed in between layers of foam padding. This ensures that the NT02 gets into your hands without a single scratch, just like our sample. Inside the package, we have a pack of screws and other accessories in it. The user manual was near perfect as it comes with pictures explaining each installation process in detail for s478, LGA775 and also K8. The NT02 comes with a very unique FM82 fan, which has 92mm blades built into a 80mm frame. The fan speed can be adjusted via the provided 3.5?brushed aluminium bay controller. More fan details later along the review. After taking out the screws from the packs, I spent a few minutes lining them up for a photo shoot. We have: 1x Metal (chromed) back plate 2x Screws with springs (for K8) 4x Long screws (for s478 and LGA775) 4x Rubber washers 8x 揋olden?bolts 32x Fan screws in different lengths 2x LGA775 mounting bracket with protective tape 1x thermal paste syringe
