ATI Technologies has announced its latest addition to the Mobility RADEON lineup, the Mobility RADEON X800 XT, which will be the highest performance mobile graphics chip from the company and will target expensive desktop replacement notebooks for gamers and enthusiasts.

?The introduction of Mobility RADEON X800 XT enables us to deliver exceptional graphics performance and sets a new standard in mobile gaming technology,?said David Cummings, Director of Marketing for ATI's Mobile Business Unit.

ATI Mobility RADEON X800 XT incorporates 16 pixel and 6 vertex pipelines as well as 256-bit GDDR3 memory interface. According to ATI's performance tests, the part features performance, which is on par with that provided by ATI RADEON X800 XT graphics card.

ATI's latest mobile graphics chip is designed for PCI Express bus and will be available in AXIOM (Advanced eXpress I/O Module) form-factor. The chip is manufactured using 0.13 micron low-k process technology and features power-saving capabilities, such as POWERPLAY 5.0.

Mobility RADEON X800 XT will be available from a number of designers of enthusiast gaming PCs including Alienware, Rock, Eurocom, VoodooPC, HyperSonic, Pro-Star, Velocity Micro and Sager. Availability timeframe is unclear.
