ATI Technologies, a leading designer of graphics processors and multimedia chips, unleashed Monday its new All-in-Wonder-series graphics cards based on the RADEON X1800 XL visual processing unit (VPU). The new board offers unprecedented combination of multimedia capabilities and performance in modern games. Additionally, ATI provides Adobe software that would separately cost $200, but comes for free with the $429 card.
?ATI's All-In-Wonder X1800 XL offers Media PC owners a richer and more entertaining experience. We?re able to extend the true multimedia experience by including Adobe software to give users an unparalleled photo and video editing experience. Consumers will appreciate the features that Avivo offers such as easy connectivity to high definition televisions while delivering more vibrant and technically more accurate images,?said Paul Lypaczewski, vice president and general manager, multimedia business unit, ATI Technologies.
The heart of ATI's All-in-Wonder X1800 XL is the RADEON X1800 XL graphics processor clocked at 500MHz and equipped with 1000MHz GDDR3 memory. But the All-in-Wonder X1800 XL employs more than that: it is equipped with a TV tuner that can receive up to 125 channels, FM radio as well as DVB-T signals (European version). Additionally, the new AIW board provides advanced video-input and video-output functionality. Being based on the RADEON X1000 micro-architecture, the All-in-Wonder X1800 XL supports hardware encoding of all popular video formats. Additionally, ATI provides software necessary to manage multimedia content on their personal computers (PCs).
?This product offered the users high 3D gaming performance combined with the richest multimedia functionality. All-In-Wonder X1800 XL is no exception. Besides the superior performance in contemporary 3D games, this new multimedia combine offers remarkable video and TV viewing opportunities as well as exceptional feature for work with multimedia content,?said analysts in the article titled ?a href="http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/aiw-x1800xl.html" target="_blank">ATI All-In-Wonder X1800 XL: All I Want??
