Introduction

Following the outstanding ASUS EAX1800XT TOP that garnered our highest honor, we turn to a lesser light in the discrete graphics scene. GeCube is a Taiwanese manufacturer that may not have the repute of bigger vendors like ASUS but it seems to be doing reasonably well by adopting a no-frills strategy. After ogling at the generous accessories offered by ASUS, the GeCube Radeon X1800 XT 512MB, the GC-X1800XTD-VIE3 is positively austere by comparison. This is compounded by the fact that the GeCube card is the splitting image of the reference design. Hopefully we may see the better side of the GeCube by the end of the article but before that, here are its fairly typical technical specifications:

GeCube Radeon X1800 XT VIVO Review
Whether the product is a top of the class card like the Radeon X1800 XT 512MB or a lower to middle range one, GeCube uses the same handy sized packaging that could be construed as either cost conscious or environment conscious.
