Overclocking the HIS X700Pro IceQ Turbo went extremely well and was able to boost gaming performance dramatically. When initially installing the HIS X700Pro IceQ Turbo it will be clocked at 425MHz (core) and 860MHz (memory). HIS claims that this card operates at a standard frequency of 460MHz (core) and 960MHz (memory), which it does. However, they do not ship the card at this frequency. Although I am not sure why this is, I believe HIS may not want to upset ATi by shipping cards that do not meet their official specifications.
By installing the iTURBO overclocking software I was able to run the HIS X700Pro IceQ Turbo at its iTURBO preset speed which is 460MHz (core) and 960MHz (memory). This greatly enhanced the cards performance as you might imagine. The iTURBO overclocking software will also allow the user to overclock the card a little further and alter the fan speed. However, to achieve my maximum overclock of 488MHz (core) and 1060MHz (memory) I was forced to use PowerStrip!
