ConclusionAs MP3 players go, the X-Micro might not appeal to your average Ipod buyer, but for users who want a tiny, light MP3 player for use when training, or to be used discreetly on the trai...

The EVA PlayerThe player itself is a small USB flash drive sized MP3 player, which is powered by a single AAA battery. Whilst you might think that wont be enough for much playing time, the X?Micro Eva actually allows for a very solid 12 hours continuous playback from each battery.
As you can see, removing the cap from the MP3 player shows a USB terminal, allowing you to simply plug the MP3 player into a free slot on your PC and transfer songs directly from your music collection to the player. No need for irritating complex interfaces ala some of the creative players, even the most novice user should have no problem dragging and dropping songs to the Eva. A slight concern is that the cap may become loose and go missing as it has nothing firmly holding it onto the USB head, but it is quite a tight fit so this should not pose a problem.
Once again simplicity is the key with the X-Micro Eva?s button layout, with play-pause, A->B repeat mode, volume control and a jog dial. There is also a hold switch for preventing the player turning on in transit, for example if it is in your pocket or in your handbag.
All functions are displayed on the X-Micro?s high resolution monochrome LCD display. For an MP3 player below the ?0 price point, you normally have the digital-watch style LCD, where only track number and progress is shown. With the EVA however, you get full scrolling track information, progress, volume, track number, file format and battery life ?and that is just whilst listening to songs.
