PCMark provides a mix of real and synthetic benchmarks. However, the benchmark breaks down its tests to focus not only on overall performance but various subsystems as well. We noticed here that the EPoX EP-9NDA3J actually possessed the best HDD controller implementation, but lost out by more than 15% in the Memory tests due to the more relaxed timings used to achieve system stability.
