Results - FarCry 1.31 (DirectX 9 Benchmark)
As usual, the lowest resolution and setting for FarCry was not the best judge of the differences between the cards. At the next step up ?1024 x 768, we could clearly see the segmentations, with the GeForce 6600 GT having a slight lead over the XFX GeForce 6600 DDR2. By 1600 x 1200, there was no more doubt as the GeForce 6600 GT had now a large performance lead over the rest of the cards. The XFX GeForce 6600 DDR2 meanwhile easily had a lead of up to 40% over the older DDR1 based GeForce 6600 and the Radeon X1300 PRO. While the Radeon X1300 PRO seemed to excel in the HDR test iteration, don't be too happy yet as the output was flawed with graphical glitches and it might not be rendering what it should. Given that we are still on ATI's beta drivers, we'll have to revisit this game's true performance potential when the drivers are firmed up and probably after an updated game patch that better recognizes ATI's newer hardware.
