At first glance the 931BF is quite typical for a 19" LCD. The dark exterior is stripped down of any extraneous features- not just ones involving style but also functionality. The black should fit in nicely in any office or home, but it won't be winning a Red Dot any time soon. The one concession made to style is a metal power button near the bottom right side of the display. This is a nice touch, especially when it is on and the blue LED behind the button shines through in a ring around its bottom half.
The vanilla styling will not turn off a lot of consumers, but it is something to take into account given just how cool some new monitors look. What's more troubling is the lack of adjustments- the display is not height adjustable, has limited backward tilt (no forward tilt), and no rotational adjustment. The base can be removed (in two pieces) for easy transport or for wall mounting, but that is where things end. A lot of these features are not that important but a monitor at this price point should have height adjustment (many of the competitors do).
Upon closer inspection we can see that the bezel area is actually a gunmetal grey and the rest of the display is black. The base has the same two-tone with the grey in a dark ring around the outside. The monitor's footprint is on the large side, but the top is flat and slightly recessed so that it can easily hold a pen, MP3 player, or something like that.
