Testing Results
Looking at the results, it is obvious that the Asus M3A79-T Deluxe motherboard, with its new 790FX/SB750 combo, is a great performing chipset. It outscores the 790GX/SB750 combo in every benchmark that was run except for two.
In our Sandra 2009 testing, the M3A79-T Deluxe takes the sweep. Everest shows the two boards splitting, as the 790GX takes the Read test and the 790FX takes the Write test.
Both POV tests were taken by the 790FX board. As were the Cinebench, HD Tach, and all of the 3dMark06 tests.
Our gaming testing saw this trend continue as the M3A79-T Deluxe takes every game test except for the Call Of Duty 4 1280x1024 bench.
Every part of the Vantage tests also saw the 790FX board outscore the 790GX.
Overall, it is clear that the performance of the 790FX board is slightly better than its younger sibling.
