Final Thoughts and Conclusion
It is nice to finally see the SB750 on the same board as the 790FX chipset. The addition of the SB750 brings a performance boost to the aging 790FX, and boosts the performance of the Asus M3A79-T Deluxe to help it outscore its younger sibling, the Asus M3A78-T. It may not have been a huge jump in performance, but it was enough to make a difference in our testing, and certainly proves that the SB750 fits well with the 790FX. Performance wise, this board did just fantastically.
The layout and setup of the board was also excellent. There were absolutely no issues at all. There is plenty of room for any aftermarket cooler that you may pick, and flashing the BIOS is a piece of cake with the EZ Flash Utility.
The bundle that comes with the Asus M3A79-T Deluxe is all that you need to set up and run the board. It is not over the top like some of the bundles we have seen with the R.O.G. boards, but in this price range, you get a pretty good package.
The price of this board is right at $190, so it certainly is not out of the price range of most people that are looking to upgrade to a top of the line board for under $200. That is almost unheard of these days, as many boards are well over three bills at release.
Over all, AMD did a good thing bringing the 790FX and the SB750 together. It was only a matter of time before this happened, but now it is here, and the benefits are good!
Legit Bottom Line: Asus has its hands on another solid board with the M3A79-T Deluxe. It is a great performer and is priced fairly decently when compared to other solutions. This one makes the short list!
