Kingston HyperX Triple Channel PC3-16000 Kit Review

3DMark Vantage is the new industry standard PC gaming performance benchmark from Futuremark, newly designed for Windows Vista and DirectX10. It includes two new graphics tests, two new CPU tests, several new feature tests, and support for the latest hardware. 3DMark Vantage is based on a completely new rendering engine, developed specifically to take full advantage of DirectX10, the new graphics API from Microsoft.

The perfomance settings were used for testing, so a resolution of 1280x1024 was used.

Test Results: Keep in mind that the Kingston kit is running with the system at 143MHz x 24 = 3432MHz in order to reach a 2GHz memory frequency whereas the Qimonda kit is running at 133MHz x 24 = 3192MHz.  This is a 7.5% clock frequency increase that is bound to help performance. That being said, there was a 5% performance boost in the overall 3DMark Vantage score and the biggest gains were in the CPU test, so we can assume that the benchmark is a bit CPU limited.

Test Results: The feature tests in 3DMark Vantage showed no significant difference in performance between the 2000MHz kit and 1066MHz triple channel memory kits.
