Performance Results

For testing our motherboard, I used a combination of real world and synthetic benchmarks to show what difference, if any, exists between our systems. Our memory and CPU tests consist of; SiSoft Sandra 2009 SP4, Everest 5.30, Cinebench 10. Our gaming tests consist of Stalker: Call of Pripyat demo run in DirectX 10.1 with 2xAA on Medium settings, Dirt 2 with all settings maxed out, and 3D Mark Vantage. Our overall system evaluation is measured with PC Mark Vantage.

All systems are updated to the latest BIOS available at the time of publication. Catalyst 9.11 BETA 6 drivers were used for the XFX Radeon HD 4850 1GB.

The performance results for the ASUS P7P55D Deluxe are very solid looking. Our ASUS board seems to have more aggressive memory sub-timings which would explain why in Sandra and Everest it was slightly faster than our MSI P55-GD65. Cinebench 10 was consistently 1 second faster on our P7P55D than the P55-GD65.

Real life gaming performance was identical for both motherboards. In 3DMark Vantage, the ASUS motherboard again came out on top with 113 point advantage in the overall score.

Finally, in PC Mark Vantage, the MSI P55-GD65 got some revenge, holding a 158 point advantage overall. Note that in the gaming test the MSI holds a 396 point advantage, which did not translate into better performance in our real world game tests.
