SilverStone SST-ST46F Review

We've not exactly been short of power supplies to review this year with almost every company seeming to have added at least a single model to their product catalogue.

This is all well and good but more choice ultimately means more confusion, at least until some company decides they'll let you take four at a time, try them out then return the three you don't like, all at no extra cost.

Of course that's not likely to happen any time soon, so with power supplies hardly the cheapest component in your PC it pays to try and get it right first time. Not always easy.

With a rating of 460 Watts, the power supply I have on the slab today theoretically has all the power you're likely to need for at least another generation or two of graphics card, possibly more if they can keep shrinking the dies. The name on it however, although undoubtedly known and respected in the PC case market, doesn't really have much of a pedigree when it comes to power supplies.

That probably doesn't count for much though as chances are they don't even manufacture the thing, but that's no guarantee it's worth buying either.

Before we take a closer look at Silverstone's Strider series ST46F, let's do the specs:
