Abit Computer aims to ship 1.2 million motherboards in China this year, up 46.3% from the 820,000 units it shipped in 2004, despite the ongoing financial situation with the company in Taiwan, said Calvin Liao, Abití»s director for sales in China.

Abití»s subsidiary in China plans to spend about NT$60 million, this year, to promote Abit-brand motherboards, Liao said.

Liao insisted that the branch has secured enough capital to launch a promotional campaign to sustain its sales target, even with a cloud of uncertainty hovering over the parent company, as it battles allegations of revenue fraud.
