Abit Computer aims to ship 1.2 million motherboards in China this year, up 46.3% from the 820,000 units it shipped in 2004, despite the ongoing financial situation with the company in Taiwan, said Calvin Liao, Abit?¡¥s director for sales in China.

Abit?¡¥s subsidiary in China plans to spend about NT$60 million, this year, to promote Abit-brand motherboards, Liao said.

Liao insisted that the branch has secured enough capital to launch a promotional campaign to sustain its sales target, even with a cloud of uncertainty hovering over the parent company, as it battles allegations of revenue fraud.
