AVerMedia?Technologies Inc., a leading provider of digital multimedia video convergence technology, announced today that its new Hi-Definition ATSC TV tuner card for watching and recording digital TV programs on PCs has been honored with an Innovations 2005 Design and Engineering Showcase awards from the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The product was recognised in the Computer Components category and was showcased at the 2005 International CES in Las Vegas from January 6-9, 2005.
"This is the fourth consecutive year that AVerMedia products have been honored in CES' Innovations competition, and reflects the company's understanding of where the market is headed as well as our engineering and design expertise," said Arthur S. Pait, President of AVerMedia Technologies USA. "This latest award is for a product that sits on the cutting edge of the movement to transform PCs into true consumer home entertainment devices, and we are gratified that the judges recognised both the significance and the quality of the tuner."
Since 1989, the Innovations Design and Engineering Awards Showcase at CES has given consumer technology manufacturers and developers an opportunity to have their newest products judged by a preeminent panel of industry designers, engineers and journalists. AVerMedia's product met the judges' stringent criteria for user value, aesthetics, contributions to the quality of life, and innovative design and qualities. The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) endorses and acts as advisors to the program.
