Unreal Tournament 2004

The newer, bigger, better, version of Unreal Tournament contains quite a bit more eye-candy than its previous version. UT2004 is also a D3D game by default and was run at max detail. 100 FPS at 1600x1200 HIGH QUALITY settings... very nice.

Call of Duty

Tests were run using the latest patched version (1.4) at maximum detail. Call of Duty uses a highly modified Quake3 engine at it's core and runs on OpenGL. The game mainly pushes high res textures and doesn't have all the wiz-bang effects of today's newer games. More 100+ frames per second goodness at max quality.

Quake3

This is the oldest test I use. The more power you throw at Q3 the higher the FPS it will pump out. This is a raw throughput power test here, folks. That same trend continues from earlier. More stellar performance from the X800 when overclocked.

Conclusion

The X800 really helps to fill out the ATI card offerings. The X800 delivers outstanding performance and is able to challenge the X800 XT when fully overclocked in some tests. Are games your life but you don't have the $500+ to fork over for the best? When you are on a tight budget a $200 difference in price is HUGE... hell, even if your budget isn't tight $200 bucks is allot of cash. At stock speeds the X800 earns it's keep and is very worthy of it's price tag. When pushed to it's full potential through overclocking the X800 PWNZ J00! :) I really hope that Sapphire sticks with the GDDR3 setup on this board and doesn't step back to eventually use SDRAM instead. If they want to attract the gaming enthusiast crowd they need to leave this card just as it is. I was hoping to see dual DVI outputs on this card but didn't, however I was glad to see there was no need for an external power connector. This card should be available for about $330 to $380. Due to its impressive performance for considerably less than a top tier card I have to give the Sapphire Hybrid X800 PCIe card 9 out of 10 pimp hats and the We Pimp Gear Award.
