Overclocking
I decided to use ATITool 0.0.23 to do my overclocking. This little program is very cool and has a ton of features to help you with your overclock. The first thing I did was set the fan speed to manual to make sure I was getting the best cooling possible. I started by using the "Find Max Core" and "Find Max Mem" which renders an object in Direct3D while scanning for artifacts. After pushing the card as much as possible without doing hardware modifications I maxed the core out at 543.60MHz and the memory to 510.30MHz. This increase of about 60MHz on the core and 60MHz on the memory is helpful but lower than I expected. Since the memory is rated for 600MHz you would think I could do better than 510MHz. On the core side of things an increase of 60Mhz is pretty good, and would probably be better with some watercooling.

Conclusion
Although this ATi Radeon X800 Pro has been on the market for a while now it is still is one of the best. This video card was easily able to chew up and spit out everything I threw at it without a stutter. When it came to overclocking I have to say I am a little disappointed with the memory results. The was able to be overclocked significantly but with 600MHz memory I would liked to have seen more than 510MHz. Either way this overclock increases the clock speed to that of a X800 XT, of course with less pipes. Because PCI-Express is not predominate enough in the market yet AGP still has a good lifespan in it. If you don't plan on upgrading your motherboard/processor anytime soon and want some better gaming performance this video card would be a great choice. Taking everything into consideration I am going to give this card a 9/10 and the We Seal of Approval. I would like to thank ATi for making this review possible.

Pros:
  • Excellent FPS across the board
  • Great image quality
  • Good overclock with the core
  • All necessary accessories included
  • 8x AGP

    Cons:
  • Memory overclock lacking
  • No game bundle
