925XE chipset to get some more competitionDigiTimes is reporting that SiS has licensed Intel's 1066 FSB for use in their chipset lineup.??
The licensing agreement is standard, and [SiS] said versions of its 656 and 670 chipsets supporting FSB speeds of up to 1066MHz would not be available until the second half of 2005.
Good news for Intel users though it looks like SiS will be late to the party. NVIDIA's Intel chipset will be out in 2Q so they'll have an uphill battle to fight when they do enter the market in the second half of 2005. Maybe it will be a non-issue though as currently, there is all of one chip that supports the 1066 FSB.Article Link: SiS to License 1066 FSB from Intel
