PSP pushed back until sometime in Q2 2005 for EuropeSony Computer Entertainment at last makes it official that their PlayStation Portable handheld gaming console will not make its projected March launch for Europe.?The troubling rumors regarding the European PSP launch were already floating around for at least a month however, when it was believed that Sony has concerns over being able to meet demand for the PSP in both North America and Europe in such a short timeframe.??This could be a sign that Sony still isn't quite confident with how quickly they are able to produce the consoles.?To make matters worse, EuroGamer writes that even at this point neither Sony nor game retailers have a firm indication as to how long the PSP will be delayed, only that it will be for at least "a few months":
"According to a source close to the platform holder, teams were ushered into a meeting and given the news despite the fact that a number of the European launch games are now finished.UK retail sources we spoke to have apparently been given no indication when the system will launch or how much it will cost, with many now privately predicting that it will be 'June at the earliest' before European gamers can get their hands on it."
The development is especially disheartening when only earlier this month Sony promised a million PSP units for the North American launch, which is still on track for March 24th.
