S3 Graphics has come a long way from the No. 1 spot on the graphics cards market to the oblivion a few years ago. Now the company is making solid attempts to come back to the market and in order to return to the North America the firm on Thursday unveiled its own online store, called GStore, where customers can get its graphics cards.

?The launch of the GStore coupled with the introduction of S3 Graphics-branded retail PCI Express graphics boards marks a major milestone in our history. Opening the GStore with products that we have designed and manufactured not only assures the level of quality that we demand, it gets us closer to the end user in our home market,?said Gerry Liu VP of Marketing at S3 Graphics.

The only product currently sold at S3's GStore is GammaChrome S18 PRO graphics card recently reviewed by web-site. The graphics card is sold for $149.99 and is said to be made from selected and quality components and designed to offer premier ownership experience. The product is aimed at home users seeking for quality HDTV playback and latest 3D graphics capabilities.

S3 Graphics GammaChrome S18 PRO is the company's first ever PCI Express x16 visual processing unit with 4 pixel and 4 vertex pipelines. The chips memory controller is 128-bit and oriented at DDR memory.

Accessible through the S3 Graphics main web-site, the GStore will principally introduce the new GammaChrome family of PCI Express processors to the market. More products will be added over the year to increase the breadth of market coverage.
