Resounding success in Athlon 64 market in last 5 months.

NVIDIA has let us know that they have shipped over 750,000 nForce 4 SLI MCP units since it started shipping a mere five months ago.

SANTA CLARA, CA桝PRIL 20, 2005桸VIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), a worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, today announced that it has shipped more than 750,000 NVIDIA nForce? SLI media and communication processors (MCPs) for the AMD64 market in the past five months.

Additionally, NVIDIA has started shipping its newly-announced NVIDIA nForce4 SLI Intel Edition MCPs designed for Intel Pentium 4 processors, including the upcoming dual-core Intel Pentium processor Extreme Edition and Pentium D processors.

That's quite a dent being made in the K8 market although during the nForce 4 for Intel briefing, NVIDIA did mention that the nForce 3's remained very popular - in fact they were shipping slightly more of them currently than the nForce 4. Despite the massive push for PCIe, AGP still remains a popular (and viable) option for many looking for a cheaper upgrade path.
