Think Secret first to web with photos of the innardsFor the Mac fans out there, Think Secret has a little preview of Apple's Intel-Based developer kit machine -- with photos. Of particular interest is this little tidbit:
Along with running Mac OS X, Windows XP installs without hitch on the Intel-based Mac, just as it would on any other PC, and booted without issue when installed on an NTFS-formatted partition.
Suddenly the users of new Macs in 2006 will no longer have a limited library of games: they can dual-boot with Windows and use it for gaming. My take on this whole Apple/Intel ordeal is that it'll help Apple's sales, as well as hurt Linux adoption. More people will be inclined to buy a Mac if they'll know that they can run a robust, attractive, and well-designed UNIX-based operating system, as well as Windows XP, on the same machine. Linux just doesn't hold a candle to OS X in any department except server performance. That's not bound to change for many more years, I think.
